“Exploring all aspects of the relationship between sound and the screen,
this event will be of interest to those working in many disciplines.
Scholars, students, practitioners and performers are equally welcome to

The field of sound and screen studies has witnessed in recent years an
extraordinary growth. The emergence of specialist journals such as The
Soundtrack and Music, Sound and the Moving Image, as well as a notable
number of theorisations of sound itself, testify to a dynamic field of
enquiry, encompassing an extraordinary diversity of practices,
approaches and applications.

This event seeks to chart contemporary debates and to explore future
avenues in individual disciplines as well as in the increasingly
innovative interstices and overlaps between fields of enquiry.
